  1. Make sure you have a PayPal account. If you have not have one, get the account
  2. Login to your PayPal account and save your button
  3. Click on the Merchant Services tab and customize the checkout page to allow donors to give comments
  4. On the right sidebar of PayPal Website Payments Standard Option, there is a list of key features including Donations. Choose this option
  5. Choose Donation from the PayPal Create a Payment Button screen
  6. Leave the button un-customized (for beginners), unless you want to change it
  7. Choose currency
  8. Chose Donors Enter Their Own Contribution Amount unless you want to set the minimum
  9. Ensure the Secure Merchant ID radio button is selected to avoid spammers
  10. Select the No radio button for Customer’s Shipping Address
  11. Select the Create Button
  12. Once PayPal creates the donate button code, copy it
  13. Logout PayPal
  14. Login Blogger
  15. Go to Design > Page Elements
  16. Click on the Add a Gadget link in the sidebar
  17. Choose HTML/Javascript widget from the list provided
  18. Paste the button code into the Content box that shows up
  19. Write a title or leave it blank
  20. Click Save
  21. Drag and drop the donation gadget into the desired spot
  22. Click Save
  23. Click View Blog to see the button
  24. Click on the donate button and you will be taken to the PayPal Checkout screen

  1. Follow step 1 to step 14 as above
  2. Go to the post where you want to display the button
  3. Insert the button code and change all instances of double quotes to single quotes
  4. Save post and publish as normal (editing HTML may necessary)
